It starts with a plan. Doctors, dietitians, personal trainers, and health coaches all agree that meal prepping is one of the best things you can do for your overall health.

  • It sets you up for success.

  • It ensures you’re getting enough fiber, protein, and other important nutrients.

All recipes on this website are meal prep friendly. That means they’ll hold up well for up to 7 days in the fridge. These recipes are macro-balanced, meaning that they provide balanced amounts of protein, health fat, and complex carbohydrates. And they don’t taste like sadness! As a fitness nutritionist but also a giant foodie, I want these recipes to reflect the best practices I’ve learned to promote lifelong health. Here’s the criteria I strive to hit:

  • Fueling Function recipes are approachable! No mortar + pestle required, no hunting down rare ingredients

  • Fueling Function recipes are either PROTEIN or FIBER dominant.

  • Protein-dominant recipes have >20g protein, fiber-dominant recipes have >4g

  • These recipes are flavorful. I’ll never ask you to cry into a Tupperware of poorly seasoned asparagus.

  • These recipes support your goals—health, performance, and aesthetic.

  • Whenever possible, calories and macros are listed.

About April

My health journey was built on calorie restrictions, cleansing, binging, and food guilt. Today I’m a maker, trainer, and fitness nutritionist. But for a long time, I was basically a 20-something college kid in an abusive relationship with food. I found success with meal prepping and flexible dieting because—for once—I stayed full and satisfied without eliminating the things I love (like wine and nachos). It’s been a regular part of my life for many years, and sharing that message with you brings me joy.

I now advocate for balance in all areas of life, including diet. Flexible dieting with a planning component (weekly meal prep) are what you’ll find here!
